Intruding in Jammu and Kashmir

           Late in the evening of last Saturday (June 1, 2013), heavily armed guerrillas attempted to cross the Line of Control (LoC) in the Kashmir valley in the district of Kupwara in Jammu and Kashmir. Within the last one week, the Pakistan troops have broken the bilateral ceasefire three times. Also the Pakistan troops use cross-LoC firing in order to allow infiltration into India's borders. It seems like the conflict between India and Pakistan is no closer to peace since the splitting of the countries in 1942. Both India an Pakistan have fought over Kashmir since the 40's and as result bloodshed occurs frequently. In fact casualties occur weekly even though there is a "ceasefire."
           Nonetheless, China and India recently reached an agreement over a territory bordering the two countries. India has one less border to worry about, but the Pakistan-India border has a significant impact on the two countries.
